A smothering Lady Rocket defense and a hat trick from Beatris Barrera led Westwood to a 6 to 0 win over St. Andrews – Sewanee on Tuesday in middle school soccer action. Faith Willoughby got Westwood on the board first as she opened the scoring with a a goal in the 13th minute. Barrera notched her first goal in the 25th minute as the Lady Rockets held on to a 2 to 0 lead at the half. Willoughby scored again at 35 miuntes and Nayeli Ramirez added a goal at 40 minutes as the Lady Rockets put the game out of reach. Barrera added her final 2 goals in the last 13 minutes to keep Westwood unbeaten on the year. The conference win lifts Westwood to a record of 3 and 0 on the season as they will travel to Fayetteville on Thursday for a 6:00 PM game with the Lady Tigers. The Lady Rockets return home on Tuesday, September 1st as they will host Huntland at 5:30 PM. Thunder Radio will be there to broadcast the match as part of the Hometown Tuesday series.
