Westwood Cross Country Sweeps Races at Warren County

cross_country_runner_oval_decalStarting the season as they ended it last year, the Westwood Rocket Cross Country teams had a strong showing in their first meet of the season on Tuesday at Warren County. The Rocket boys finished 1st ,2nd and 3rd in the boy’s race to lead Westwood to the win. 8 Rocket runners finished in the top 10 led by Andres Cavalie who was 1st, Renalto Ayala was 2nd and Samuel Workman finished 3rd.
In the girls race, Patricia Barrera finished 1st while Sunshine Mai was 4th and Braden Gray was 5th to lead the Lady Rockets to the meet win. Zoe Mills finished in 6th place while Hallie Wimberly finished in 7th as the Lady Rockets showed the same type of dominance as the boys. Westwood coach James Dobson was pleased with the outcome. “All the kids did a great job today. They really did a great job in representing the school” said Dobson. The next scheduled meet for the Rocket thinclads in a home meet on September 15th. The meet will be run at the site of the former Old Stone Fort golf course.
