The CHS Soccer team exploded for 5 second half goals to dispatch Lawrence County and celebrate a homecoming, of sorts, for the soccer program.  Competing on their still unfinished home field for the first time in nearly 2 years, the Lady Raiders were able to finish strong as they netted 4 goals in the final 20 minutes for the 5 to 1 win.  The Lady Raiders controlled the match from the onset as they held Lawrence County to only 2 shots on the match.  The Lady Raiders were able to fire off 27 shots as nine different Lady Raiders were able to get shots on frame.  Holli Smithson netted 2 goals for Coffee County to earn the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game honors.  Coffee County also got goals from Maclay Brandon, Lexie Roberts and Caitlyn Moore.  The Lady Raiders evened their district record at 2 & 2 with the win as they won their 4th match in the last five.  The Lady Raiders travel to Franklin County on Thursday to take on the Rebels.  That match will kick off at 7:00 PM.

The CCMS football team celebrated homecoming in grand style on Tuesday night as they outlasted North Franklin 18 to 6.  With injuries in the Red Raider backfield, Josh Sanders stepped up in a big way scoring a touchdown and a 2 point conversion to lead Coffee County.  Weston Hargrove added a one yard TD run and a 2 point conversion of his own.  The Red Raiders added a safety in the first half as North Franklin muffed a snap while in punting formation.  The Raiders improved to 5 and 1 on the season and 3 and 1 in conference play.  The Raiders will travel to McMinnville on Tuesday for a noon game with Warren County for their “In-School” game.

It took 5 sets, but the CHS volleyball teams kept their district record perfect on Tuesday night at Columbia.  After dropping the first set 25 to 19, the Lady Raiders rallied for 2 set wins, 17 & 18, before an epic 27 to 25 loss in the 4th set setting up a deciding 5th game.  Despite the previous set loss, the Lady Raiders rallied for the deciding 15 to 11 set win to drop the defending district champion Lions on their home floor.  Making the victory even sweeter was a 2 sets to 1 victory for the JV Raiders over Columbia as well.  The Lady Raiders will return to the Joe Frank Patch Gym on Thursday as they play host to District 8AAA rival Lincoln County.  That match will begin at 6 and Thunder Radio will bring you the broadcast beginning at 5:50.

The CCMS Volleyball team traveled to Lincoln County on Tuesday to take on South Lincoln in volleyball action on Tuesday.  The Lady Raiders could never get on track offensively falling in straight sets 25-20 and 25-17.  The loss was the first for the Lady Raiders since August as the Lady Raiders record stands at 10 and 4 on the year.  The Lady Raiders will be off until Thursday, September 25th when they play host to Harris Middle.
