Lady Raiders Win, Raiders Fall in Fayetteville

basketball 6Tuesday night high school basketball action had Coffee County traveling to Fayetteville. The Lady Raiders had a difficult time in the first half falling behind 27-17 at the break. After halftime Coffee County found their shooting touch and was able to come from behind and defeat Fayetteville, 47-41. Cameron Davis and Sara Brown were named Co-Gateway Tire and Service Center players of the game. Davis finished with 16 points, 12 in the 2nd half and Brown had all 9 of her points in the 2nd half. Holli Smithson added 12.
The Lady Raiders will play Thursday-Saturday in a tournament at Murfreesboro Hollaway School.
The boy’s game did not go well for the Raiders and they fell behind in after one quarter 21-6 and trailed 49-17 at the half. Fayetteville’s Nicholas Hopkins had 30 points in the first two quarters.
In half number 2 Fayetteville continued its onslaught walking away with a 72-37 win.
Addison Carter led Coffee County with 11 points and was named the player of the game. Hopkins, who only played 4 minutes of the 2nd half finished with 35 for Fayetteville.

The Raiders will host a 3-day tournament on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at the Joe Frank Patch Gymnasium.
