Shelbyville got off to a hot start on Tuesday night in high school basketball as they led Coffee County 21-3 during the first half before going on to lead 33-16 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter Shelbyville, playing on their home court extended its advantage to 33 points, 55-22. The Eaglettes pulled away even more in the final quarter with the mercy rule enforced as they defeated the Lady Raiders 72-25.
The biggest problem for Coffee County was committing 26 turnovers on the night.
Tyger Fenton was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game.
Coffee County stands at 10-8 overall and 1-3 in District 8-AAA play.

In the boy’s game things did not go well for the Red Raiders as they fell behind the Eagles 38-18 at halftime. In the 2nd half Coffee County could not overcome their turnover problem or the Eagles, falling 80-46.
JP Duncan had 13 points to lead Coffee County and earn the player of the game honors.
Coffee County is now 4-9 and 0-4 in district action.
Friday night the Lady Raiders and Red Raiders will play host to Columbia beginning at 6pm with our broadcast starting at 5:50pm.
