Coffee County High School head baseball coach Brent Whitlock told the players on his team on Thursday morning that he has decided to resign at the end of the baseball season.
CHS Principal Joey Vaughn told WMSR that he appreciate the work that coach Whitlock has done. He said Whitlock is fine man and he wishes him the best. Vaughn said that Whitlock wants to spend more time with his family. The principal added that the school will start the process of looking for a new coach as this season wraps up.
Whitlock took over the program two years ago after Chase Jones left after 11 years on the job. Jones is now coaching at Grundy County.
