As the regular season for high school volleyball nears its conclusion, the Coffee County CHS volleyball team is playing the best it has played all season. Never was that more evident than on Saturday when the Lady Raiders swept all 6 of their matches to win the Warren County Invitational. Coffee County rolled through the day dropping only 1 set on the day. After pool play wins over Cannon County, Tullahoma, Grundy County and Warren County, the Lady Raiders were seeded first in the elimination bracket. After blitzing Grundy County on the semifinals 9 & 15, Coffee County dropped the host Lady Pioneers 21 & 15.
Peyton Nicoll and Maddie Taylor were the statistical leaders for Coffee County on the weekend. Nicoll led the team in aces with 16 and kills with 28 while adding 40 assists, 17 digs and 2 blocks. Maddie Taylor led the team in assists with 52 and digs with 23. She also added 10 aces and 9 kills. Kaylee Skipper led Coffee County in blocks with 6 and added 21 kills, 12 digs and 10 aces. Coffee County had an amazing 73 aces in their 13 sets on the day, with only 34 service aces, as 5 Lady Raiders had at least 10 aces. The Lady Raiders conclude the regular season this week with 2 road games. Coffee County travels to Franklin County on Tuesday and Lawrence County on Thursday.
