After Day #2 of the TSSAA Sub-Sectional Track meet at Riverdale, 3 Lady Raider thinclads have qualified to move on to next week’s Sectional track meet at Rhea County. Both the Raider and Lady Raider teams completed the field events on Monday, while the Lady Raiders finished the running events on Tuesday. The Raider runners return to Riverdale on Thursday.
For the Lady Raiders, Cameron Davis, Taylor DeBerry and Sarah Pearson each qualified in an event for Tuesday’s Sectional Meet. Davis finished 2nd in the discus with a throw of 90 feet and 5 inches. DeBerry came in 2nd place in the 100M hurdles with a time of 17.18 seconds while Sarah Pearson finished 4th in the 300M hurdles with a time of 49.23. As a team, the Lady Raiders finished in 4th place in the region in field events and in 7th place in the running events.
Other top finishers for the Lady Raiders were:
Sarah Pearson – 5th in the 100M hurdles, 7th in the 300M hurdles and 5th place in the high jump
McKenzie Anderson – 7th in 100M hurdles, 6th in the 300M hurdles and 6th place in the high jump(tie)
Cameron Davis – 5th in the shot put
Bailey Nester – 6th place in the high jump(tie)
Nadja Hansen – 10th in 1600M run
The Red Raiders finished in 10th place in the field events however no one qualified for the Sectional Meet. Top finishers for the Coffee County boys in field events were:
Kani Johnson – 6th place in the high jump
Reece Pratt – 8th place in the Discus Throw & 9th place in the shot put
The boys running events will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday at Riverdale High School.
