The CHS Cross Country team, along with close to 70 other teams and 700 runners, opened their 2015 season at the Voyles Classic in Smyrna on Saturday. The boys team had an impressive day as they finished 39th out of 61 teams besting region foes Smyrna, Tullahoma, Franklin County and Lincoln County. James Lynn was the top runner for Coffee County as covered the 3.2 mile course in a time of 19:26.70. Other times for Coffee County were: Andy Rosson – 20:45.4, Edgar Marceleno – 20:56.68, Neil Slone – 21:37.18, Ryan Farless – 22:27.45, Rueben Chaput – 23:22.47 & Moises Ramirez – 23:41.36
The Lady Raiders were paced by McKenzie Morgan who Finished the course in 26:58.81 to place in 232nd place. Other Lady Raider times were: Byanka Woods – 27:51.54, Jasmine Farrar – 31:39.97, Katie Folke – 31:41.73 and Kelsea Selvage – 36:33.0. Coffee County will travel to McMinnville on Tuesday afternoon for a meet at Warren County High School. The meet will also feature the middle school racers as teams from Coffee County Middle and Westwood Middle will compete in the middle school division.
