CCMS 6th Grade Teams Split at White County on Monday

Trailing by 7 points entering the 4th quarter, the 6th grade Lady Raider basketball team used a 15 point 4th quarter and a 6 point overtime to stun White County in Sparta on Monday night by a final score of 34 to 28. The Lady Raiders, who were held scoreless in the first quarter, got 15 points in the 4th quarter, led by 7 points from Marley Perry. Coffee County held White County scoreless in the overtime period to improve to 5 and 0 on the year. Perry led Coffee County in scoring with 12 points and Leigha Insell added 8 points.

In the boys’ game, White County used a 10 point 3rd quarter to hand the Red Raiders their first loss of the year 27 to 24. Joseph Duncan led Coffee County in scoring as he had 17 points. Aiden Abellana added 4 points for the Red Raiders. With the loss, Coffee County is now 4 and 1 on the year. The Raiders and Lady Raiders will travel to Shelbyville on Tuesday night for a battle with Harris. The girls’ game will tip off at 6:00 PM
