A series of transition baskets in the 2nd quarter lifted the CCMS Lady Raider 6th grade basketball team to a 24 to 12 win over the Lady Gators of North Franklin on Thursday night. Defensively, the Lady Raiders were able to hold North to 3 points in each quarter with their stifling pressure. Coffee County was led in scoring by Marley Perry who finished with 7 points while Kiya Ferrell added 5 for the Lady Raiders. The win improved the Lady Raiders record to 7 and 0.

At least a half a dozen missed shots in the paint spoiled the Red Raiders chance at completing the sweep as Coffee County fell 37 to 33 to North Franklin. Coffee County trailed by as many as 12 points in the 4th quarter before closing out the game on a 10 to 2 run. The Raiders were never able to hit the clutch basket to cut the deficit to one possession as they fall to 5 and 2 on the year. Joseph Duncan scored 18 points for Coffee County while Conner Shemwell added 8 points. The 6th grade teams are back at home on Wednesday as they play host to West Tullahoma. Game time is set for 6 PM.
