Busy Prep Schedule for Thursday

golfFor the first time in 3 months, Thursday provides a busy slate of action as the fall prep season begins to pick up steam. The day begins at 8:00 AM as both CHS golf teams travel to Eagleville to take part in the Murfreesboro Invitational at Champions Run. The CHS girls are looking to repeat as champions in the tournament which tees off at 8:00 AM. Both boys and girls teams will face a stern challenge from several district and region foes in the 18 hole match.


The Coffee County CHS volleyball team will be on the road on Thursday for a 5:00 PM scrimmage match with Cumberland County. The Lady Raiders hope to build off the momentum coming out of Saturday’s Choo Choo Classic win over Red Bank in their final scheduled scrimmage of the preseason. Coffee County opens the regular season on August 18th at home against district rival Shelbyville.


CHS Soccer LogoThe CHS Lady Raider soccer team will host a scrimmage game on Thursday at the Raider Soccer Field behind the Raider Academy. Coffee County will welcome region foe Oakland to their home pitch for the 6:00 PM contest. The Lady Raiders will host Ooltewah in their final scrimmage of the preseason on Tuesday, August 11th.


football3And finally, the Westwood Rockets football team opens the regular season on Thursday night against Duck River Valley Conference foe Moore County. The Rockets will travel to Lynchburg for the 6:30 PM contest with the Blue Raiders. Westwood returns their starting quarterback from 2014 in Jake Hollandsworth as Coach Chad Dyer hopes to claim another conference title for the Blue and White
