Thunder Radio News has learned that Coffee County Central High School boys head basketball coach J.D. Douglas has been relieved of his head coaching duties effective immediately. According to CHS athletic director Richard Skipper said the decision had been made to take “the basketball program in a different direction.” Douglas will remain as a classroom teacher at CHS. Current assistant coach Ben Holl has been named the interim head coach. Douglas was in his 2nd season as boys coach at Coffee County. His career record at Coffee County was 13 and 36. The Raiders were 4 and 16 on the current season and finished last season with a record of 9 and 20 but advanced to the Region 4AAA Tournament before falling to the eventual state champion Blackman.
