8/6/12 — James Robert Thompson

Funeral services for Mr. James Robert Thompson, age 69, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. 

Visitation with the family will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 5 at the funeral home. 

Mr. Thompson passed away Friday morning at his residence.

Mr. Thompson was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late Johnny and Pearl Gray Thompson.  He was retired from Carrier where he was employed in plant maintenance and was a member of Local #483 in Morrison.  He enjoyed fishing and camping.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was also preceded in death by a grandchild, Gracie Rose. 

He is survived by his wife, Betty Thompson of Manchester; three sons, James “Sonny” Thompson, Dennis (Shawnna) Thompson, and Eddie Taylor, all of Manchester; three daughters, Tina (Randy) Johnson of Manchester, Kelly (Terry) Henley and Stacey Rose (Michael Shockley), both of Hillsboro; one brother, Jacky (Sue) Thompson of Decherd; two sisters, Shirley (Ed) Walls of Decherd and Patricia (David) Arnold of Manchester; 13 grandchildren, Crystal Hill, Toshia Henley, T.J. Henley, Cody Thompson, Kayla Thompson, Kelsey Thompson, Kristen Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Eddie Lee Taylor, Leigha Taylor, Seth Rose,  Mickaylee Shockley, and Nikki Harrison; and four great grandchildren, Wesley and Ethan Hill, Melaynie Pomar, and Brianna Harrison.
