She was a native of Alabama and had lived many years in Chattanooga before moving to Tullahoma, where she was a longtime resident. She relocated to Hill View Retirement Center in Portsmouth four years ago to be closer to her family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jobe Thomas (JT) Hester and Carl Manning, Sr., four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by sons Tom (Sandra) Hester, Lucasville, Ohio, David Hester, Winchester, Kentucky, Joe (Barbra) Manning Senatobia, Mississippi, and Carl (Dana) Manning Jr., Kansas City Missouri, three grandsons, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted Methodist and true Southern lady who enjoyed cooking, socializing, needlework, crossword puzzles, reading, church work, and bridge until physical limitations curtailed those pleasures. She, also, enjoyed watching the University of Tennessee and University of Alabama football games as well as the NFL Tennessee Titans. She was retired from the Materials Division of the Arnold Engineering Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

The family appreciates the health care and services provided by the Southern Ohio Medical Center and Hill View Retirement Center medical staffs.
