Iva Messick Rose, age 80 of Beech Grove, Tennessee, passed away on June 25, 2014 in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Mrs. Rose retired from the Coffee County School System after teaching for 42 years. She was a substitute teacher for 7 years after retiring. She will be fondly remembered as loving wife, mother, sister and dedicated teacher who was a faithful member of the Beech Grove Church of Christ and enjoyed writing, gardening, cooking, watching “Wheel of Fortune” and going to sales at Dillards.
Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, the late Marion Lee Rose who passed away in 2012; parents, Grady Hall Messick and Myrtle B. Bush Messick; and sister, Nell Mason and her husband Shelton Mason.
Mrs. Rose is survived by her sons, Brent L. Rose of Beech Grove, TN and Brad H. Rose and his wife LuAnn of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Velma Davis and her husband Dorris of the Noah, TN; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; caregivers, Chris Ferrell and Lisa Waters and Lisa’s granddaughter, Destiny; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, June 29, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
