Ms. Burchett was born June 20, 1916 in Franklin County to the late Jim and Sallie Evans Teat.
In her early years she worked at what was known as “the silk mill”. Several years later she moved to Nashville and worked as a beautician in the Cain Sloan Department Store and then worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company until she retired in 1995.
Upon her retirement she returned to Franklin County to care for her elderly mother. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, gardening and playing cards with her many friends, for whom she often served as their “Taxi Driver”.
She was an active member of the Franklin County Senior Citizens organization and faithfully attended the Winchester Church of Christ until her health began to fail.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Burchett is preceded in death by her brother, J.R. “Peaches” Teat and her faithful four legged companion, a Boston Terrier.
No immediate family survives Ms. Burchett but she does leave behind her two close friends, Jean Jones and Margaret Custer.
