funeral flowerMr. James Earl Neely of Tullahoma passed from this life on Saturday,
October 3rd, 2015 at St. Thomas-West Hospital in Nashville at the age of
88. Mr. Neely was born November 25, 1926 in Robertson Co., TN to the late
H.B. and Avo Gragg Neely. During his life he served his country in the
United States Navy, then received his degree in Mechanical Engineering
from Georgia Tech, and spent the majority of his career at AEDC. Mr.
Neely was a long-time member of the church of Christ at Cedar Lane where
he served as both a deacon and an elder until he devoted all of his time
to caring for his beloved wife Ramie, who survives him. In addition to
his wife, Mr. Neely is survived by two sons, Joel Neely and his wife Era
of Memphis, and Jeff Neely and his wife Debbie of Nashville; one
daughter, Jennifer Neenan and her husband Gerald of Nashville; six
grandchildren, Nathan Neely, Russell Neely and his wife Brittany, Andrew
Neely, Marcus Neely and his wife Stacey, Baker Neenan, and Curran N!
eenan; and two great-grandchildren, Sam and Rebecca Neely. In addition
to his parents, Mr. Neely is preceded in death by one brother, Buford
Neely, and one granddaughter, Shannon Neely. Visitation for Mr. Neely
will take place on Monday, October 5th, 2015 from 5:00-8:00pm at the
church of Christ at Cedar Lane. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
October 6th at 11:00am also at the church of Christ at Cedar Lane, led
by John Payne and Pat Allison. There will be an hour of visitation prior
to the funeral, from 10:00-11:00. Burial will follow at Rose Hill
Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in
Mr. Neely’s memory be made to either the church of Christ at Cedar Lane,
Mission Fund, 1200 Cedar Lane, Tullahoma, TN 37388, or The Alzheimer’s
Association at the tribute fund founded in his
Kilgore Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
