Funeral services for Mrs. Beryl Dineen, fondly known as “The English Lady”,
age 83, of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 10,
2015 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Albert Watters officiating.
Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation
with the family will be from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral
home. Mrs. Dineen passed away Thursday evening at Manchester Healthcare.
Beryl was born in Birmingham, England, the daughter of the late Leonard
William and Alice May Haie Guest. She was a homemaker and a member of the
Church of England. She moved from England to Chicago in 1956. While
visiting her daughter in 1992-93, she met the mayor, who formerly invited
her to live in Manchester, TN, which she and her husband did, in 1994. She
loved to go riding, shopping, and enjoyed taking long family vacations. She
also loved her many cats.
In addition to her parents, Beryl was also preceded in death by her loving
husband, William J. Dineen, Jr., who passed away in June 2012. She is
survived by two daughters, Patricia Bush and her husband, Terry of
Manchester and Deborah Gray and her husband, Walter of Estill Springs; two
brothers, Francis Phillip Guest of Australia and Leonard William Guest of
England; four grandchildren, Linda Marie Misek of Chicago, Tina Marie
Pinegar of Decherd, Cassie Dee Bush of Chattanooga, and PFC William Drew
Gray of Estill Springs; six great grandchildren, James, Mackenzie, Addison,
Haidan, Peyton, and Michael; and her best friends from Chicago, Frank and
