A Tullahoma man was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after being injured in a single car accident on East Carroll Street Friday night. According to a police report by Tullahoma Police Officer Michael Wilder, a witness said that Friday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. Timothy Ferrell of North Washington Street was traveling along East Carroll Street when he began to accelerate and went off of the roadway.
The 1994 Nissan Altima struck a hill and then slid sideways and struck trees. The vehicle then rolled and came to rest on a tree. According to members of the Tullahoma Fire Department, a bystander used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire in the vehicle.
Due to Ferrell’s injuries, a medical helicopter landed on the scene and he was flown to the Nashville hospital.
