Name the Dog Park Contest

Manchester dogs and their owners are excited over the City’s new off-leash dog park at the Manchester Sports Park. In honor of the occasion, the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a contest to select a name for the new park, where canines will be able to frolic freely.
The Department is looking for a name that will attract dog lovers from all over the community. Occupying a section of the Manchester Sports Park adjacent to the Little Duck River Greenway, the park will be a draw for individuals using the greenway or nearby parks.
All entries must be submitted to Thunder Radio at thunder1320.com
Entries will be accepted through January 24. If more than one contestant submits the name chosen, a random drawing of the duplicate entries will determine the winner.
A panel of judges will screen all of the submissions and select three names to forward to the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department. The community will select the winning name via an online poll. The winning name will be unveiled at the grand opening of the dog park on March 23.
The individual who comes up with the winning name will receive a gift basket filled with human and doggy treats! Plus, a photo op with the Mayor at the grand opening!
The staff at the Rec Center was pleased to receive a collection of letters (about naming the Dog Park) from Rachel Wells’ third grade class at College Street Elementary School. Here are Kaden Ingle, Brooklyn Randall and Kaylee Hensley sharing their letters that they sent to the Rec Center about the dog park:
