CNC mill being unloaded at Coffee County High School
Coffee County Schools continue to benefit from a strong partnership with the Manchester Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber solicited funds from local businesses/organizations and raised well over $19,000 for a new CNC mill for the CCHS CTE department. Dr LaDonna McFall said, “It’s hard to believe they were able to top the 3D printer from last year and we are so thankful for their continued support”.
Most CNC milling machines (also called machining centers) are computer controlled vertical mills with the ability to move the spindle vertically along the Z-axis. This extra degree of freedom permits their use in diesinking, engraving applications, and 2.5D surfaces such as relief sculptures.
