10/17/12 — Richard Leon Russell

RICHARD LEON RUSSELL, Sr., age 58, of Tullahoma, Tenn., departed this life on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at his residence, losing his battle with cancer.

Mr. Russell enjoyed repairing automobiles and riding motorcycles.  He was the owner of Richard’s Automotive in Tullahoma.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Brazier.

Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Patsy Russell of Tullahoma, daughters; Michelle (Damon) Dye of Shelbyville, Amanda Mines and Shelley Russell of Louisiana, Misty Nunley of Tullahoma, Rebecca Russell of Louisiana, Amy (Derek) Tipps of Tullahoma, Tania Russell of Louisiana, sons; Richard Leon (Marissa) Russell, Jr. of Normandy, Dillon (Danielle) Dotson of Tullahoma, brothers; Jim Russell, Joe Russell, Hugh Russell all of Estill Springs, Tenn., Patrick Russell of Tullahoma, several grandchildren and 3-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2012, with Rev. Joe Butler, officiating.

Interment will follow in Pennington Cemetery in Estill Springs, Tenn.

10/12/12 —- Norma L. Rigler

Mrs. Norma L. Rigler , age 88, of Wartrace, Tennessee, passed away Friday morning at Lincoln Nursing Center.

A native of Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Lydia Stahlheber Crull. She was a homemaker, having worked at Boeing and the telephone company before she married. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Rigler.

She is survived by two daughters; Sue (Roger) Nixon of Lebanon and Cinda (Chuck) Musgrave of Golden, Colorado. 5 Grandchildren; Amanda (Nick) Plitz, Billy (Sirena) Bukar, Shane (Kim) Nixon, Jon Musgrave, Chris Musgrave. Two Great-Grandchildren; Caitlin and Macie.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Trinity Lutheran Church.

10/10/12 — Bertie Lee Cicero

Bertie Lee Cicero of Tullahoma, passed this life on Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 at her residence at the age of 85.

She was the daughter of the late Crocket and Anna Mae Erskins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Cicero who passed in 1990 and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Cicero is survived by two daughters, Sharon Cicero and husband Warren Whisenhunt of Tullahoma, and Deborah Cicero of Athens, GA; one son, Ron Cicero of Shreveport, LA; one sister-in-law, Lee Belle Erskins of Winnfield, LA and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 20th, 2012 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 1815 Marshall Street Shreveport, LA.

10/13/12 — ALBERT NATHAN “FROG” DARNELL

ALBERT NATHAN “FROG” DARNELL, age 69, of Decherd, Tenn., departed this life on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Darnell was born in Bedford County, Tenn.  He was retired from Sanford in Shelbyville, Tenn., Mr. Darnell attended White Oak Grove Church of God.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Darnell was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Darnell.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Darnell of Decherd, daughter, Renaye (Dale) Walls of Decherd, son, Duane (Kandi) Darnell of Tullahoma, mother, Evelyn Darnell of Shelbyville, Tenn., sister, Freida (Tony) Crowell of Manchester and a special nephew, Troy (Katrina)  Leverette of Beech Grove, Tenn.,  grandchildren; Austin (Tish) Walls of Decherd, Justin Darnell and Kaley Marie Darnell of Tullahoma, great-grandchildren; Caroline Todd and Matthew Walls, uncle, Durward Walters of Manchester, Tenn.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for 5:00-9:00 P.M. Friday evening.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Rev. Spencer VanOrder and Rev. Bobby Beal officiating.

Interment will follow in  Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.

10/12/12 — Goldie Grant Watkins Tomes

 

Goldie Grant Watkins Tomes, age 83, of Tullahoma Tenn., departed this life on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma.

She was a member of the Christian Lighthouse Full Gospel Church in Tullahoma.  Ms. Tomes loved to sing and play her guitar and had a beautiful singing voice.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; Edgar “Mutt” Watkins and Bill Tomes, daughter, Judy Mae Conner and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons; Bobby (Pat) Watkins of Tullahoma, Kenneth (Debbie) Watkins of Lynchburg, Randy (Patsy) Watkins of Tullahoma, Kevin (Peggy) Watkins of   Shelbyville. 11- grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Ms. Tomes will be held from 11:00-2:00 Friday at Grant Funeral Services with the service to begin at 2:00.  Bishop Willie D. Young, Elder Steve Powell and Evangelist Frank Elkins will officiate.

Interment will follow in Blanton’s Chapel Cemetery in Manchester, Tenn.

10/12/12 — Bobby E. Cyree

Mr. Bobby E. Cyree, age 75, of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday at his residence.

He was the son of the late Ewin Cyree and was a factory worker. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife Carol Ann Finch, one son; Michael Cyree, and one daughter; Tracey Cyree.

He is survived by one daughter; Dawn Schindel of Tullahoma, and his grandchildren; Paige and Racheal Cyree, Cassie Hulsey, Edward Morales, Jared Schindel, and Jada and Shyenne Mulgado.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, from 11:00AM until 1:30PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

The funeral procession will leave Tullahoma Funeral Home at 1:45PM for Maplewood Cemetery, where graveside services will be conducted at 2:00PM with Bro. Horace Lee Jacobs officiating.

10/13/12 — J. Douglas “Doug” Davis

J. Douglas “Doug”  Davis, age 43 of Manchester, Tennessee,  passed away on October 9, 2012 at the Erlanger Medical Center in  Chattanooga, TN.

He was a Technician with Cubic       Precision.

Doug enjoyed deer hunting and practicing ball with his children, Cameron, Cade and Chase. He coached baseball, football and       softball for many years. He loved the opportunity to not only coach his own children, but to touch and enrich the lives of all of the other       children.

Doug was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Manchester.

He was preceded in death by his  paternal grandparents, James “Corky” Davis and Goldie  Inez Davis and maternal grandmother, Marjorie Sain Brinkley.

Doug is survived by his wife, Pam Austin Davis of Manchester; children, Cameron Nicole  Davis (age 15), James “Cade” Davis (age 11) and Douglas “Chase” Davis (age 11) all of Manchester; parents, James “Edward” Davis and Carol S. Davis of Manchester; and a host of other  relatives and friends.

VISITATION will be on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The FUNERAL SERVICE will be conducted on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Barron officiating.

BURIAL will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

10/11/12 — Floyd Marshall Stevens

Visitation with the family of Mr. Floyd  Marshall Stevens, age 65, of Hillsboro, will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM  on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel. 

There will be no services. 

Mr. Stevens passed away suddenly at  Medical Center of Manchester on October 8, 2012.

Mr. Stevens was born in Manchester, TN,  the son of the late Floyd Stevens and Arlie Mae Johnson Barnes. 

He was a retired heavy machine operator  at Tennessee Corrections Academy.  He loved doing dozer work.  Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and bird  watching.  He served his country in  the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart for  injuries while in service. He  voluntarily served two tours. He  was of the Nazarene faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stevens  was also preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Crabtree, and special family  members, Quinton and Villa Baker. 

He is survived by his only child, Amy (Jason) Vickers of Manchester; a  longtime dog companion, “Kimo”; his girlfriend, Laney Cunningham; one brother,  Michael Stevens of Tullahoma; one sister, June (R.L.) Dodd of Manchester; three  grandsons, Case (Kelsey) Vickers, Nick “Pate” Vaughn, and Preston Vickers; one  great granddaughter, Emery “Peanut” Vickers; with special recognition of Cason  Abed and a host of family and special, close  friends.

10/12/12 — Kenneth Wayne McAfee

Kenneth Wayne McAfee, 75,of Lynchburg,Tenn. passed from this life October 9,2012 at his residence.

He was the loving and devoted husband of Charlsie “Guess” McAfee, loving sons Darrell K. (Judy) McAfee and Douglas W. McAfee all from Lynchburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles McAfee and Thelma L. Wells McAfee.

He is also survived by a brother, William “Mac” McAfee of Franklin, Tenn., sisters; Dorothy McAfee Frame of Tullahoma, Tenn. and Wilma McAfee Bonner of Lynchburg, Tenn. and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was retired from Jack Daniel’s Distillery. He was a member of Marble Plains Baptist Church in Winchester.

Visitation for Mr. McAfee will be Thursday ,October,11, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. at  Lynchburg Funeral Home .

Funeral services will be on Friday, October, 12, 2012 at 11 A.M. at the Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Hice officiating. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Cemetery.

10/14/12 — William Robert “Billy” McCormick

Funeral services for William Robert “Billy” McCormick, age 43, of Manchester will be conducted Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Roy Sekulich officiating.

Burial will follow at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 11:00 AM until time of services.

Mr. McCormick passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

He was born July 30, 1969 in Coffee County, TN the son of Mrs. Geraldine Cagle McCormick Vincent and the late William Lloyd McCormick.

He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed coaching his two children in little league, softball, and traveling teams.

In addition to his father, Billy is preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Marie Martinsen and a brother, William Lloyd “Button” McCormick.

In addition to his mother, Geraldine Vincent of Manchester; survivors include two loving children, Tiffany Nicole McCormick of Pensacola, FL; and Dylan Herbert Curtis McCormick of Manchester; three sisters, Julie L. Trammell, Tammy C. Stratton and Gina L. Swoape and husband, Ralph all of Manchester; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kisa and Ron Camfield of Manchester; two sisters-in-law, Jessica Camfield of Manchester and Amber Camfield of Tullahoma; six nieces, Misty D. McCormick; Jennifer L. Trammell; Christy L. Trammell, Shirley F. Trammell; Amber R. Stratton; Jessica D. Swoape; a nephew, Joshua E. Swoape and numerous other family members, cousins and loving friends.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to First National Bank, 1814 Hillsboro Blvd., Manchester, TN to assist with funeral expenses and funds for Billy’s children, Tiffany and Dylan.
