2/9/12 — Smedley D. (Dee) Reel

Graveside services for Mr. Smedley D. (Dee)  Reel, age 81, of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Bro. Clifford Reel officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 8 at Manchester Funeral Home.

Mr. Reel passed away on Monday at United Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Reel was born in Guild, TN, the son of the late George W. and Minnie Dagnan Reel. Before his retirement in 1992, he was an electrician at AEDC. He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

His hobbies included fishing, reading, watching sports of all kinds, and gardening at his home and helping neighbors with their gardens. He was the recipient of the Environmentalist of the Year Award from the Garden Club in the late 90s.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reel was also preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Baird Reel, who passed away in 2008; two brothers, James Thomas Reel and Stanley Reel; and one sister, Shirley Cabage.

Mr. Reel is survived by three sons, Robert and George Reel, of Manchester and John Reel of Oregon; one daughter, Janie (Vee) Cunningham of Manchester; two brothers, Clifford Reel of Hendersonville and Willard Reel of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Matt Reel, Michael (Leann) Reel, Robin (Sergeant First Class Daniel) Duncan, Andrew Cunningham, Lorrie Reel, and Heather Reel; five great grandchildren, Makayla Ann Reel, Caden Matthew Reel, Alivia Fox Reel, Shawna Gibson and Jacob Ethan Duncan; and many loving friends.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Tennessee Donor Services, 1714 Hayes St., Nashville, TN 37203.

2/9/12 — James Leighton Jones

Mr. James Leighton Jones, age 37, of Tullahoma, passed away Monday at his residence.

A native of Tullahoma he is the son of Leighton and the late Brenda Joyce Anderson Jones.

He attended Breakfree Worship Church and was a brick mason.

In addition to his Mother, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Misty Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Kena Stubblefield Jones of Tullahoma, Sons, James Leighton Dutter Jones Jr. of Tullahoma, Kaiden Brye Jones of Tullahoma, Step-daughter, Kinsley Dianne Stubblefield, Father, Leighton Jones of Tullahoma, Brothers, Frank Graves of GA, William Donald Graves of GA, Charles Michael Campbell of Chattanooga, sisters, Cindy Lyn (Benjamin) Pesak of Tullahoma, Trina Cotton of GA and Lisa Graves of GA.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chad Conn officiating.

2/9/12 — Steven Wayne Bresco

Steven Wayne Bresco of Tullahoma, passed away on Monday, February 6th, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center of Tullahoma at the age of 57 years.

Mr. Bresco was born in Allen County, Ohio to the late Andrew Bresco and Mrs. Betty Bresco.

During his life Mr. Bresco worked as a former cabinet maker with Keel Cabinets.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Bresco is survived by one sister, Darlene Banks of Tullahoma, and two brothers, Jerry Bresco of California, and Tom Bresco of Virginia.

Visitation for Mr. Bresco will be held Thursday, February 9th, 2012 from 11:00-12:30 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home with a graveside service at 1:00 at Concord Cemetery with Bro. Tim McGehee officiating.

2/9/12 — Danny Wayne Henley

Danny Wayne Henley, age 44 of Estill Springs, Tennessee, passed away on February 6, 2012 at the United Regional Medical Center in Manchester.

He was born on May 27, 1967 in Manchester, TN to his parents, Clarence Wayne Henley and Nona Mae Griffith Henley of Hillsboro who survive.

He is also survived by his children, Tiffany Brooke Henley of Chattanooga, TN and Brandon Leon Henley (Ruth A. ) of Manchester, TN; brothers, William A. Henley of Alamo, TN and Jeremy W. Henley (Rebecca) of Manchester, TN; two grandchildren, Peyton M. Henley and Jaidyn S. Henley both of Manchester, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Danny was a member of the Rutledge Hill Community Church and had served as President of the Future Farmers of America (FFA).

He will be fondly remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend who loved playing music on the guitar and accordian , and especially the piano.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday evening, February 8, 2012 from 5:00 -8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the Rutledge Hill Community Church Cemetery.

2/10/12 — Hazel Lee Green

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Lee Green, age 66, of Manchester, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Hurricane Cemetery in Coffee County.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green passed away Wednesday morning at Medical Center of Manchester.

Mrs. Green was born in Nashville, TN, the daughter of the late Bill and Ailene Morton Thomas.

She was a homemaker, attended Hoover’s Gap Church, and coached in the Manchester Girls Softball league for several years.

Mrs. Green is survived by her husband, Ralph Ramsey Green, Sr. of Manchester; one son, Ralph Green, Jr. of Manchester; one daughter, Patty Ann Keele of Manchester; and one brother, Frankie Thomas of Manchester.

2/8/12 — Winifred (Winnie) Gasser Saine

 Winifred (Winnie) Gasser Saine passed away February 3, 2012 at the age of 89 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Mrs. Saine was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin to the late Christian O. and Mabel Hemmy Gasser. She married Vergil L. “Hap” Saine on June 17, 1944 and they celebrated 67 years together before her passing.
They lived in Harrogate, TN, Madison, WI, Baraboo, WI, Oak Ridge, TN, Godfrey, IL, Childersburg, AL, Herrin, IL, Guilford, CT, and after retirement, Manchester, TN.
Winifred, best known as Winnie, is survived by her husband of 67 years, Vergil Saine; one sister, Norma Gasser Hulterstrum; two sons, Stephen F. and his wife Diana of Columbia, SC and Jerome G. Saine and his wife Kathryn of Manchester, TN; four grandchildren and spouses, Cynthia Saine Gaines (Kenny) of Worcester, MA, Marjorie Saine Marcus (Mike) of Portland, OR, Erin Saine Terry (Raymond) of Greenebrier, TN and Travis G. Saine (Rachel) of Dickson, TN; four great-grandchildren, Lauren and Carter Terry, Jenna and Chandler Saine.
After graduating from Baraboo, Wisconsin, High School in 1940, Winnie acquired secretarial work at a local Industry and later at the Baraboo First National Bank. She was active with the local USO Club as a Council Member. It was there she met her future husband Vergil.
While living in Harrogate, Tennessee, she attended Lincoln Memorial University, majoring in Accounting.
Winnie was a member of the Methodist Church in Baraboo, as were her devout Christian parents. She was a member of the choir and teacher in the Children’s Sunday School. With moves of her family, she continued Methodist membership.
She was an active assistant to her husband during his period with the Manchester Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow Member along with Vergil.
Winnie has been a devoted and outstanding mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker for her husband and two sons, and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN with the Funeral Service following at 2:00 P.M.
Interment will be at the Manchester City Cemetery.

Calvin Eugene Harrell

Mr. Calvin Eugene Harrell, age 70, a Coffee County native and longtime resident of Tullahoma passed away on January 10, 2012 in Madison, Alabama.

He was born February 27, 1941 near Morrison, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Dorthy Fleak Harrell and by his wife of 47 years, Jenny Harrell.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Jill and Richard Travers of Madison, AL, son, Vince Harrell and Debra Cook of Bluffton, SC, Grandchildren, Rebekah and Jason Shaw of Harvest, AL and Rachel Travers of Madison, AL.

Mr. Harrell graduated from the University of New York and Upper Iowa University. He retired from Harton Regional Medical Center in 2008 after working there since 1966. He worked as the Laboratory Manager at Harton for many years. He was selected as a Technologist of the year for Tennessee by the Society of American Medical Technologist. He was also a diplomat in Laboratory Management with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist.

He was a past chairman of the Coffee-Moore Chapter of the Red Cross and a former member of the Kiwanis Club.

In addition to working at Harton, he attended Faith Theological Seminary and became a God-Called Ordained Minister. He had worked as a Christian Counselor with the Family Counseling Center in Manchester.

Calvin will be remembered for his dedication to family, friends and serving God.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Tullahoma Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00PM in the Tullahoma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wall and Rev. Jack Lambert officiating.

Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee Co.

Stephen Mankin Roberts

Mr. Stephen Mankin Roberts age 60 of Monteagle, Tennessee passed away on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Stephen was a retired caseworker with the Tennessee Department of Human Services and had been a teacher.

Stephens favorite pastime was to spend time at the lake fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Marinell Roberts; children, Jason Scott, Timothy Scott and Angela Pritchett; brother, Keith Roberts; grandchildren, Jasmine Scott, Jillian Scott, Windsong Pritchett and Emily Letienne; nephew, Graham Roberts.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-9 P.M.

Burial will be in the City Cemetery in Tracy City, TN.

Geneva Ann Graves

Geneva Ann Graves, age 76 of Manchester, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012.

Geneva , or “Mama Graves” as numerous special people in her life knew her, was the owner and operator of G & G Furniture in Manchester and a member of the Church of Christ “Temple Lot” of Independence, MO.

She was born on August 30, 1935 in McMinnville, TN to her parents, the late James Lester Scruggs and Velma Irene Winton Scruggs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Moran L. “Buddy” Graves and sister, the late Carolyn Fay Eddy.

She will be fondly remembered as one who loved her family, coaching softball and cooking, especially baking.

She is survived by her son, Steve M. Graves and his wife Gwen of Manchester, TN; daughter, Debbie G. Stevens of Manchester, TN; two grandchildren, Deborah Nicole “Nikki” Alonso of Manchester, TN and Stephen Graves of Manchester, TN; one great-granddaughter, Victoria Lake Alonso; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday evening, January 10, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Central Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday afternoon, January 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Bob Oldham officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.

Hazel Peek Willis

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Peek Willis, age 82, of Manchester, will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Parks officiating.

Burial will follow at Manchester City Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Willis passed away Monday morning at her residence.

Mrs. Willis was born in Coffee County, TN, the daughter of the late Solmon and Nancy Wiser Peek.

She retired from PCA in 1992, after 47 years of employment. She was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Manchester. One of her favorite hobbies was spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Willis was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Willis, Sr.; two brothers, George and Marvin Peek; one sister, Mamie Cruise; and one daughter, Carolyn Burt.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Smith of Estill Springs, and Shirley (Mike) Harwell of Manchester; two sons, Gordon (Connie) Willis, Jr. of Tullahoma, and Charles (Karen) Willis of Manchester; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
