Coffee County Classic

Friday was a big day for Coffee County Lady Raider Pitcher Brianna Jones. Brianna threw her 5th no-hitter of the season in the Coffee County 2-0 victory over Daniel Boone in the Coffee County Classic. She also struck out 10 batters.
Brianna boosted her batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Lady Raiders. She singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning. Jones was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the game.

In Coffee County’s second game of the tournament they took on Chattanooga Central. The Coffee County Lady Raiders pulled out the win thanks to a strong sixth inning. Two errors on the same play scored Grace and Anna Spellings and gave the Lady Raiders the lead for good. Coffee County trailed 2-1 going into the 6th but scored 3 times for a 4-2 win.
The Lady Raiders were led by Brianna Jones’s hitting again. Brianna went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She hit a long homer in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Coffee County Central relied on Bethany Baker to eat up innings en route to the win. Bethany pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and 1 walk while striking out four.
Brittany Williams was named the player of the game.

Brianna Jones struck out 11 batters, but it wasn’t enough to carry the Coffee County Lady Raiders to a win on Saturday, as the Lady Raiders fell to Hendersonville 1-0 in six innings.
Hendersonville managed to score one run in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Matti Byrd.
Jones was the player of the game.

In the single elimination part of the tournament Coffee County could not overcome errors and mental mistakes falling to Seymour 9-1. Down 2-1 in the final inning the Lady Eagles got the bases loaded with 2 outs. A mental mistake on a ground ball in the infield allowed Seymour to go up 3-1. The flood gates would open up and 6 more runs would score.
Brittany Williams who had 2 hits was the player of the game.

Baylor School from Chattanooga defeated Seymour for the championship.
