Coffee County welcomed Lincoln County to the Joe Frank Patch Memorial gym on Friday night (Dec. 14, 2012). In girl’s action, Lincoln County took a 22 to 18 lead into the half. Lincoln County exploded in the 3rd Quarter to build an 11 point lead with 3 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter. But Coffee County went on a furious 7 point run to end the quarter eventually tying the game with 5:40 remaining. The teams battled back and forth throughout the dramatic 4th quarter before Liz Faulkner hit a 3 pointer from the corner as time expired to give the Falcons a 46-43 win. Coffee County was led in scoring by Alaina Lusk who had 13 points, while Ginny Clayborne added 11. The loss dropped Coffee County to 5 and 5 on the year. The Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the game was TaNeesa Buchanan who finished with 7 points for the Raiders.
In boys action, Coffee County nailed nine 1st National Bank 3 pointers, but could not overcome the physical play of the visiting Falcons as they fell 65 to 45. The game was tied at the end of the 1st period before Lincoln County pushed their halftime lead to 4. The Falcons used their deep bench and their quick, physical defensive pressure to control the 2nd half. The Raiders fall to 3 and 6 on the year. The Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the game was Lance Crismond who finished with 26 points on the night. Lucas Crismond added 14 points and Anthony Jackson netted 12.
