Mrs. Winkles was born in Estill Springs, Tennessee to the late Benjamin Franklin Ingleburger Sr. and Lucille Phillips Ingleburger.
She was a member of Hickerson Station Church of Christ for 50 plus years and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, both state and local, where she held numerous leadership positions throughout her membership. Mrs. Winkles was a former state and 5th District President of the Auxiliary and was the current Unit 78 Gold Star with the Auxiliary as well as the current state Chaplin. She was a member and current Treasurer of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and was a frequent volunteer with Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro where she was the VA representative. Mrs. Winkles was instrumental in starting and also sat on the board of The Fisher House program in Murfreesboro which is a unique private-public partnership that supports America’s military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
