In June 2003 the outdoor pool at the Manchester Recreation Complex opened to the public and quickly became a hot commodity during the summer months. However, did you know that it takes 146,000 gallons of water to fill it each year? Or that it serves some 500 students and patrons each day? In 2014, the Manchester Recreation Complex is bound to reach even more excited patrons and students with its upcoming outdoor pool events this summer. The Outside Pool will open on Thursday, May 22nd and then on May 31st will be involved in the Water Safety Fair at the Manchester Recreation Complex. This event will focus on the fact that May is Water Safety Month and will include safety demonstrations and tips from Lifeguards as well as The Manchester Police Department, Fire Department, Rescue Squad, Game Warden, Air Evac, Ambulance Service, and more. EE swimming lesson at the same time that others around the world will be participating in swimming lessons in order to try and set a world record. Oh & don’t forget, Twisted Tuesdays will begin in mid-June for kids to come and play games to win prizes, coupons, and much more at the Outside Pool.
