3/4/17–Coffee County Soccer League Sign Ups

Coffee County Soccer League Spring 2017 Season will begin 8 April and end 20 May
– Registration will be from 11 February thru 4 March
– Fees are $65 for one player and $60 for each additional player
– A box and applications will be located at the Manchester Recreation Center from 11 February thru 4 March
– Also, a table will be manned at the rec center to take applications and answer questions from 9:00am-1:00pm, 25 February and 4 March
(Late registration will be 5-11 March at a cost of $10 extra per player)

2/28/17–Sons of the Confederate Veterans Meeting

SCV CAMP 72 February 28, 2017 MEETING

Maj. Gen. Benjamin F. Cheatham Camp 72 will have their regular dinner meeting at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Oak Restaurant in Manchester. The meeting will start at 7:00 P.M.

For program information and the most up to date info, please check our web site at http://www.tennessee-scv.org/camp72/. The speaker will be Richard Dix discussing “The Battle at Chancellorsville.”

Meetings are open to the general public and all War Between the States buffs have a special invitation for the program.

Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all males 12 years of age and above who had an ancestor that served honorably in the Confederate Armed Forces or the Confederate Congress and can prove kinship either lineal or collaterally. Help is available to anyone interested in finding and proving kinship.

2/18/17–Fast Pitch sign ups

The Coffee County Fastpitch Association begins the final 2 weeks of signups this Saturday at the Ada Wright Center. The fastpitch softball league will hold signups from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, February 18th and Saturday, February 25th. The league is open to kids ages 4 to 14 in 4 separate age divisions. Opening ceremonies and the opening day parade will be held on April 8th.

2/13/17–Volunteer Coffee County Senior Citizens Center

Have you been looking for a way to really help people in your community? We might just have the opportunity for you.
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)/Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) is a statewide program that provides free and objective counseling and assistance to people with questions or problems regarding Medicare and other related health insurance. SHIP/SMP answers questions about: Original Medicare; Advantage Plans; Prescription Drug Plans; Supplements; Medicare Fraud and Abuse; Medicare Covered Preventive Services; being under 65 and having Medicare; financial assistance with Medicare premiums; deductibles and copays and much more.
We are in the process of recruiting new volunteers.
A Volunteer training class will be held on Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 9 at the Coffee County Senior Citizens Center in Tullahoma, TN. 410 N. Collins St. Potential volunteers must attend both sessions from 8:30a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Our goal is to get volunteers trained to go out into their own communities into senior centers, assisted living facilities, churches, health fairs, etc. to make a real difference in people’s lives.
If you would like to attend the volunteer training classes please contact us to register. With the exception of licensed insurance agents, anyone can be a SHIP volunteer. [You do not have to attend alone, couples or groups of friends are welcome.]

3/11/17—CCCHS Alumni Baseball Game

The Coffee County Central High School baseball team will be holding an Alumni Game on March 11th at Powers Field at 2:30 PM. Any former Coffee County player is encouraged to sign up to participate. Coast to participate is $10 which will cover the cost of the t-shirts. Any additional money raised will go to benefit the Williams J Myers Foundation. Members of the Williams J. Myers foundation will also be on hand so sign up to register at the link given.

3/11/17—Baseball Clinic

The Coffee County baseball team coaches and players will be hosting a players’ clinic. The clinic is for kids between the ages of 8 to 15 and each camper will receive age appropriate hands on instruction in all aspects of the game. The clinic will be on Powers Field and in the Crethan Hansert Hitting Facility at Coffee County Central High School. The camp will run from 9:30 AM to 1 PM.
Campers are asked to bring a bat, glove, tennis shoes, cleats, hat and a batting helmet to the camp. Cost is $20 per camper in advance and $25 the day of the camp. Any sibling that wants to also attend can get in at half price. Concessions will be available on the day of the camp.
