Outdoor Adventure Day
Cloudland Canyon State Park
April 19, 2014
Outdoor Adventure Day at Cloudland Canyon State Park is scheduled for April 19, 2014. Each year, many people come out to Cloudland Canyon, one of the most visited of Georgia’s state parks, for a fun filled day of activities that start at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm.
Concessions will be available all day. Marvin Croft will be selling his famous barbecue, hamburgers, and even biscuits in the morning, and Chris Stone will have his outdoor pizza ovens set up, selling home made pizzas. Archery, caving, GeoCaching, kid’s activities, frontier crafts, disc golf, and falconing will be on-going all day. Other activities will take place at various times. These include: fishing from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, a wildflower tour at 10:00 am, first aid and survival demonstration at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, and a night hike at 8:00 pm.
In addition to all these exciting activities, visitors can participate in regular park activities such as hiking the many trails and viewing the picturesque scenery, enjoying playgrounds and picnic areas, camping, educational activities in the Interpretive Center, and shopping in the newly expanded park store. Need something different and exciting to do on Easter weekend? Saturday is the perfect day to visit Cloudland Canyon, one of the most popular state parks in Georgia, located on top of Lookout Mountain in Dade County.
