Sycamore Falls Hike
Join Ranger Park as he leads a moderate hike to Sycamore Falls in the Grundy Forest Area. Keep an eye out for wildlife and cool natural formations! Meet at the Grundy Forest parking lot and wear sturdy shoes.
12:00 p.m.
The Edible Forest
Join Ranger Katie at the Stone Door Ranger Station for an easy hike around the ranger station while sampling the local edible plants. Meet at the Stone Door Ranger Station. Wear sturdy shoes and bring your bug spray!
4:00 p.m.
Grundy Lakes Canoe Float
Come on out to learn the ropes about paddling a canoe and participate in a lake critter hunt! Meet at the Grundy Lakes parking area and wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet. Weather permitting, call ahead to reserve a spot. 931-924-2956.
The Southern Wheels N Motion Car Show will be held on June 15, 2013 at the South Jackson Civic Center in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
This event showcases 250-300 cars from all over the United States and draws a crowd of approximately 4,000 people. It is widely known as one of the best Judged Car Shows in the Mid-South Region of the country and has been featured in “Southern Rodders” Magazine.
Registration for show vehicles and swap meet vendors is 8 a.m. till 12 p.m..
There will be 39 judged classes with 3 trophies per class and 16 special awards and $100 Best Club Participation Award.
There will be Oldies Music by Good Times Sounds and Food and Drink Concessions.
Funds raised from this event are used to benefit numerous charitable causes in the Middle Tennessee area.
The event originated in 1992 and grows every year. One of the highlights this year will be an appearance by Television Actor/Singer John Schneider, who is most known for his role as “Bo Duke” in the popular television series, “The Dukes of Hazzard.” He will be available for autographs and photographs from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The public is invited and spectacting is free.

Backcountry Cooking
Join Ranger Park at the Grundy Forest Pavilion for the basics of backcountry cooking and a snack. Limit 15 participants, call ahead for reservations. 931-924-2956.

Hike to Stone Door
Join Ranger Katie on a short hike to see the impressive Stone Door. Learn how the Native Americans used this unique geological feature located in the Savage Gulf for survival. Meet at the Stone Door Ranger Station. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water.

Father’s Day Foster Swim
Meet up with Ranger Park at the Foster Falls parking area for a celebration of Father’s Day at Foster Falls. Join us for swim races, arm wrestling and other fun competitions to celebrate this Father’s Day. Wear swim clothes and bring snacks. Call ahead for team reservations: 931-924-2956.

Rolling with the Invertebrates
Join Ranger Katie as we roll over logs to find insects! Learn how these small but important creatures keep the forest clean as well as providing food for other woodland critters. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Meet at the Stone Door Ranger Station.
This is a list of the weekend activities at Old Stone Fort for the weekend of June 15th and 16th.
On June 15th starting at 10:00 a.m. we will meet at the museum for a 1 ¼ mile interpretive hike around the Native American mound site known as the Old Stone Fort.
Join us at 11:30 a.m. on the lawn in front of the visitor’s cen
ter to try your hand at using the weapon known as the atlatl; which was used to hunt and bring down large game during prehistoric times.
At 1:30 p.m. there will be a tools and weapons demonstration. Come and view some old artifacts that would have been used in prehistoric times and learn how they were used.
Lastly at 2:00 p.m. we will meet at the museum to enjoy an educational hike to the Duck River where we will catch and learn how to identify creatures we find while discussing ways to keep their habitat clean and healthy. Please wear old clothes and shoes you do not mind getting wet.
On June 16th at 10:30 a.m. we will discover the art and science of animal tracking as we learn how to identify animal tracks and scat. We will explore a scat collection, as well as make track plaster casts. The 45 min. workshop will be followed by a field study.
Join us at 1:30 p.m. for another atlatl demonstration and another chance to try your hand at using the ancient weapon.
We will end the weekend with a discovery hike at 2:30 p.m. Engage your senses in the fascinating world of nature. Explore various habitats and the plants and animals that live in them.

Greeter Falls Hike
Meet up at the Greeter Falls parking lot for a moderate 1.4 mile hike to see the Upper and Lower Greeter falls. The trail descends by way of a spiral staircase to the base of the Lower falls where we will stop for a break. Bring snacks or lunch if you wish.

Natural Bridge Geology Walk
Meet up at the Natural Bridge parking lot for a fun and informative walk to the Natural Bridge and explore the geologic history of our region using this unique formation as a waypoint.
