Easter Egg Hunt
Our 31th Annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled at the Visitor Center Complex.  This event is for children walking age and up.  There will be five age categories, with four prizes awarded to each group, for children finding the prize eggs.  There will be no “most eggs found” competition.  Adults will only be allowed to assist toddler hunters in the walking to age two group.  In case of rain, the Easter Egg Hunt will be rescheduled to Sunday, March 24th, at  1:00  p.m.

(The Friends of South Cumberland State Recreation Area will sponsor this event.)

Time: 11:00am

Fee:    Free

Pre-registration required. 

Only first 100 accepted.  All participants will receive a goody bag!!

Age Groups:

3-5 Kiddie pool (parents may assist)

6-8 Ramp/Therapy pool

9-11 Shallow part of lap pool.

 

All non-swimmers must wear floatation device!!

Some eggs float and some sink!

Hint:  Bring goggles and something to place your eggs in.

 

Slide into Spring

 

Time: 12:00pm

Fee:   $1.00 per participant

Help us celebrate the arrival of Spring and be the first to slide down the slides in 2013!!

All proceeds go to purchasing new lifejackets for the pools.

Free to all participants!!

Age Categories & Times are as follows:

2 to 7 year olds will be held at 1:00pm at Fred Deadman Park

 

 

8 to 12 year olds will be held at 8:00pm at the Babe Ruth Field at Fred Deadman Park

 

This hunt will take place in the dark please provide your child with a flashlight!!  All participants must also bring their own basket or bag to hold their eggs.

begins at 5:00 p.m.  Saturday, March 23rd

Old fashioned dinner will consist of dried beans, fried potatoes, kraut & wieners, cornbread, drink & dessert for $6.00.

All proceeds will go to The Mark Fletcher Family who recently lost their Mobile Home by fire.

Singers will be:  The Carter Family,  The Mary Bean Singers,  The Singing Gospel,  The Dillards and Journey Home.

Chapter 883 of the National Association for Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) will meet Tuesday, March 26th at noon at Emma’s Restaurant in Manchester, TN.

The Guest Speaker is Mr. Weldon Payne, Author and Columist.

SCV CAMP 72 March 26 2013 MEETING

Maj. Gen. Benjamin F. Cheatham Camp 72 will have a dinner meeting at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 26 at the Oak Restaurant in Manchester. At 7:00 P.M. Commander Williams will open the meeting.

For program information and the most up to date info, please check our web site at http://www.tennessee-scv.org/camp72/. We usually have excellent speakers to present the programs. Our scheduled speaker is James Cook of the Sumner Cunningham Camp in Shelbyville. He will speak on Andersonville and Capt Wirz. James is an avid collector of War Between the States articles and possesses both a Spencer and Henry rifle.

Meetings are open to the general public and all War Between the States buffs have a special invitation for the program.

Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all males 12 years of age and above who had an ancestor that served honorably in the Confederate Armed Forces or the Confederate Congress and can prove kinship either lineal or collaterally. Help is available to anyone interested in finding and proving kinship.
