Monday, January 27, 2014, 4:30 pm
(Immediately preceding the 5:30 pm Board of Mayor & Aldermen meeting) at: City Hall (201 West Grundy Street) in the Upstairs Meeting Room
Retail Development is an important part of our City?s economic strategy, and we want to give you an update on some of the efforts being undertaken to attract more retail growth and development to our area. In addition to providing jobs, and shopping opportunities for our area, the Local Option Sales Taxes received is on an upward trend and provides more than $ 675,000 per month to help fund the Schools and Municipal Operations.
The TAEDC contracted two years ago for assistance with a consulting firm to assist in the development of programs and activities to bring additional jobs and dollars to our area. A Birmingham-based company, Retail Strategies, Incorporated, is continuing the work in this effort.
Company representatives will be in attendance on the 27th to give a report on their efforts to assist the City, the Tullahoma Area Economic Development Corporation (TAEDC) and the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) in their cooperative efforts to grow this important segment of our economy.
We want you to join us to learn more about our efforts and how we can all work to meet our goals. We hope your schedule will permit you to attend!
