Hike to Savage Falls Meet Ranger George at the Savage Gulf Ranger Station to start this New Year with your best foot forward!
This is a moderate 4 mile hike roundtrip to see the beautiful Savage Falls.
Dress warmly and bring water & snack for the trail.
Please remain after the hike and warm up at the ranger station with some hot chocolate!
To ring in the New Year and continue the celebration of Tennessee State Parks 75th anniversary, Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park in Manchester will host a First Hike at 10 am on January 1st.
Starting from the museum, a park ranger will lead the 1 ¼ mile hike around what is called the Old Stone Fort telling you about the site built by Native Americans 2000 years ago.
Wear hiking shoes, bring some water, and enjoy some coffee and hot chocolate in the museum afterward.

“Tapped” Join Ranger Brent at the South Cumberland Visitor Center for an educational documentary about the bottled water industry.
Manhatten Island Swim Challenge
Length: 28.5 miles (for every mile you swim you move two on the map)
Challenge: Swim 14.25 miles in 8 weeks (average 1.7 miles a week) or
Swim 470.25 laps total in 8 wks or 58.8 laps a week
33 laps = one mile (there and back is one lap)
Fee: $5.00
All swimmers that complete the challenge receive a prize.
New Classes for the New Year - Starting January 7th
Monday – 7:15pm * 30 Minute Stretch Class *
This is a mild stretch class used to increase flexibility. This class would also be beneficial after a tough workout to wind down and stretch the muscles out to decrease soreness.
Wednesday – 9:00am * Basic Step *
Maybe you want to take step aerobics but have not taking a class in a while or maybe you are a beginner? Either way, this class would be ideal for anyone, including seniors, looking for a group fitness class to get in shape.
Monday thru Thursday 12:10 – 12:45 * Lunch Time Express Work Out *
Come to this class on your lunch break & receive a 30 minute full body work out including stretching, toning, & cardio. Come to this class ready to workout and sweat.
Great for beginners or long time work out fanatics!!
Tuesday & Thursdays 4:00 – 5:00pm * Youth Spin Class *
Participants must be 13 years of age or younger & at least 4”11” or taller
Class will consist of 30 minutes of spin / 20 minutes of weights / 10 minutes of stretching
Each child should bring a 16 oz or larger bottle of water & a towel to class each day.
