Mr. Melvin Carroll Coke, age 71 of Manchester, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mel was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Lawrence and Maggie McMillan Coke, and two sisters, Opal Smith and Pauline White.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Judy Coke, three daughters, Mandy Harris and husband Richard of Gainesville, Georgia, Lisa Brumley and husband Craig of Lilburn, Georgia, Trish Price and husband Otto, Jr. of Brentwood, Tennessee, one sister, Linda Carolyn Eagle of Greensboro, North Carolina, two brothers, James Coke and wife Janet of Greensboro, North Carolina, Jesse Coke and wife Ann of Lexington, North Carolina, nine precious grandchildren, one precious great grandchild, and mother and father in law Della and Carl Sheffield.
Mr. Coke was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Melvin was an Army Veteran and was very proud to have served our country. Mel loved to fly, ski, camp, boat, and travel. He loved to sing and loved his cats. Mr. Coke was dearly loved by his family and by all who knew him and called him friend.
Memorial Services for Mr. Melvin Carroll Coke will be conducted on Thursday, December, 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester, Tennessee with Pastor Scott Parkison and Brother Bobby Trail officiating.
