Coffee County’s Rural Roads & Bridge Committee met Wednesday afternoon. The topic of discussion was a proposal made by Jeff Cuellar with Bonnaroo. In part Bonaroo wants to widen Kimberly Lane and Grosch Drive, widen a bridge on Kimberly Lane, and resurface the roads. Estimated cost is about $200,000. In exchange, Bonaroo would be allowed to bring some eighteen wheelers and tour buses into the grounds on these roads. Last year the RR&B committee enacted a law that limits all traffic to 6 tons. This action was taken after it was learned that the residents on Kimberly Lane were upset because of large trucks and busses getting stuck and cutting up their yards. “The road just isn’t wide enough for large vehicles to pass” said a resident. After speaking to Cuellar on a conference line, asking questions, and talking to the residents present at the meeting, it was determined the proposal would be turned down by the Rural Roads & Bridge Committee.
