STELLA MAE MCCLURE HEDGE, age 74, of Estill Springs, Tenn., departed this life on Thursday, October 4, 2013, at her residence after losing her battle with cancer.
She was born in Swaine, Ala. to Roy and Alta McClure and was raised in Hollytree, Ala. She then graduated from Paint Rock High School in 1957. After graduation she then moved to Hammond, Indiana and was employed as a Machine Operator and was later promoted to Payroll Clerk by Lever Brothers Company. She was employed there for over thirty-five years, retiring in 1993. It was in 1960 she married Mr. Burl Hedge. Ms. Hedge was a member of the Winchester Free Holiness Church. She was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
Ms. Hedge was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alta McClure, husband, Burl Hedge, son, Tracy Hedge, sisters; Eva Nell Moss, Ethalene Brazier and brothers; Ray and Bill McClure.
She is survived by children; Timothy Hedge of Tullahoma, Terry Hedge of Estill Springs, and Kimberly (Chris) Toney of Estill Springs, grandchildren; Timothy “T.C.” Carter Hedge, Mary “Mary Cate” Hedge, Thomas “Jay” Hedge all of Tullahoma, Brittney Hedge (Timmy) Dass of Arizona, Robert Hedge and Samantha Hedge of Indiana, Jessica (Phil) Wright of Ala., and Drake Crook of Lynchburg, Abby Toney, Jericho, Kristoffer and Kane Hawkersmith all of Estill Springs, great-grandchildren; Avery Wright, Nathaniel Dass, Jakob Dass, and Trinity White, Honorary daughter, Dawn Waegner, Honorary grandchildren; Zach and Jarred Marion and Matthew Baker, sister, Wilma Moore of Flynn, Ky., brother, R.J. McClure, of Ohio.
Visitation for Ms. Hedge will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. Monday evening, October 7, 2013 at the Winchester Free Holiness Church.
Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 8, at the Church with Bro. David Maples and Bro. Bruce Brazier, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Winchester Free Holiness Church Cemetery.
