The Lady Raider volleyball team finished the regular season is decisive fashion with a straight set sweep over Franklin County on Tuesday night on Senior Night. Coffee County led each set and scored 18 aces on the match winning by set scores of 25-15, 25-8 and 25-6. Coffee County was led in kills by Hayley Banks who had 8 kills and Sara Brown who finished with 4. Banks also led in aces with 5, while Kelsey Munn added 4. Hollie Moore led the Raiders in assists with 12 and Brittany Williams added 10. Haley Banks also led the team in blocks with 3 to earn the Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game honors. With the win, Coffee County finished the regular season at 25-12 and 8 and 2 in District 8AAA play. The win was the 21st match win for Coffee County in their last 23 matches.
The Lady Raiders are off until next week’s District 8AAA Tournament. After receiving a first round bye, Coffee County will take on the Tullahoma/Lawrence County winner on Thursday, Oct 10th, at 6:30 PM at the Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gym. A win in that match gets them a berth in the District Championship match scheduled for 8:00 PM against Columbia.
