The Lady Raider volleyball team welcomed Lincoln County to the Joe Frank Patch for their first District 8AAA home game since 2008 on Thursday night. Coffee County got some great play at the net to gain the straight set win 25-21, 25-21 and 25-14. In the first set, Coffee County trailed 21 to 10 before rallying for the win behind the serving of Hollie Moore and the dominance of Haley Banks at the net. In the 2nd set, Lincoln County charged out to a commanding 17 to 10 lead before a Coffee County timeout. Out of the timeout, senior Kelsey Munn took over at the net scoring 2 crucial blocks and 2 big kills. Banks led Lady Raiders in Kills with 11, aces with 5 and blocks with 5. Hollie Moore led the team in assists with 12 while Brittany Williams had 9 assists.
The Gateway Tire and Service Center player of the game was Kelsey Munn for her inspiring play at the net. Munn finished the night with 6 kills and 4 blocks.
The Lady Raiders travel to Chattanooga on Friday to take part in the 27th Choo Choo Classic at Red Bank. On Friday night, they face Science Hill at 5:00 PM(EDT), Signal Mountain at 7:00 PM(EDT) and Soddy-Daisy at 9:00 PM(EDT) in pool play action. Single elimination begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday. Coffee County will be back home on Monday night hosting Eagleville. Our next broadcast of Coffee County volleyball will be Tuesday night at home as Coffee County hosts Tullahoma. 1st serve is 6:00 PM both nights.
