The skies over Tullahoma have been busy this week, as skydivers from Fort Campbell, KY have been training at the Tullahoma Regional Airport. The skydivers are an elite group that are frequently featured at sporting events such as delivering the football at NFL football games. The skydivers moved their training from Fort Campbell to Tullahoma after the federal sequestration took place cutting off money for fuel to be used in military airplanes. Hollis Collins manager of the Tennessee Skydiving club that operates out of the airport explained. The Tullahoma Airport is the only civilian airport in Tennessee to be military certified for skydiving.” He explained that the military personnel conducted a thorough inspection of things at the airport before certifying the airport. The inspection took about a week to complete.
