Janine Renee Benner, age 51, a resident of Manchester, TN, passed away on July 4th at her home surrounded by her loving family and close friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 11 am until 2 pm.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 2 pm from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Norm Vetter, Bishopric 2nd Counsellor, Tullahoma Ward officiating.
Janine was born in Reno, Nevada on May 5, 1962 and spent her youth in Europe and Africa.
She was the daughter of Dr. Anita A. Sherrill of Whidbey Island, Washington and of the late Gary Brazle of Vandalia, IL.
She will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, daughter and wife. She loved adventure and the outdoors. Some of her favorite hobbies were skiing, football, white water rafting, motorcycling and camping. Janine loved getting together with friends and family and celebrating life to the fullest. She was also an active theater mom, supporting her youngest son, Joshua in all his endeavors.
One of her favorite trips was when she and her husband Mark traveled to Alaska. She was forever looking for new places to travel, and Italy was to be her next stop. Janine had also dreamed of going to Jerusalem one day with her mother. Janine is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Tullahoma and contributed her time and her heart to her church.
She was also a dedicated bookkeeper/accountant at Home Depot in Manchester for 6 years. She was surprised and impressed with the fact that she was hired despite the fact that she was being treated with chemotherapy during the time of her interview.
Survivors include her husband, Mark S. Benner of Manchester with whom she shared 11 beautiful years and created many joyous memories; her three grown sons, with whom she was so proud: Jason (Anna) Wilson, stationed in Okinowa, Japan, Justin and Joshua Wilson both of Manchester, TN; stepchildren, Lani Benner of San Antonio, TX, Rachel (Matt) Cortinas of Bandera, TX, Sarah Benner of Manchester, TN and Jacob Benner of Tampa, FL; two grandchildren, Thompson and Lucy Lowe of Manchester, TN; two siblings, Theresa (Richard) St Pierre of Fernley, NV and Cary Sherrill of Oak Harbor, Washington; In laws, Philip and Marilyn Benner of Manchester; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Belynda Wilson, also of Manchester, TN and numerous family and devoted friends.
Janine’s presence was big and wonderful and her exuberance and joy of life will be missed always.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Society.
