Two Coffee County attorneys are in the running to fill three vacancies on the court of appeals. Christina Henley Duncan and Robert Huskey have applications submitted to the Judicial Nominating Commission. The commission is made up of 17 lawyers who review applicants and send recommendations to Gov. Bill Haslam before June 30. Duncan is a partner in the law firm of Rogers, Duncan and North in Manchester. Her primary practice is civil trial law, with personal injury and wrongful death cases making up the bulk of her work. Duncan was one of three finalist nominated for a vacancy on the appeals court in 2007. Huskey is an attorney with the Huskey Firm in Manchester. He has practiced law in Coffee County since 1970. He currently serves as the county attorney and its delinquent tax attorney. The nominating commission has 25 applications to review to replace Judge Patricia Cottrell who sat on the Civil Court of Appeals and Judge Joe Tipton who sits on the State Criminal Court of Appeals both whom will retire next year.
