A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 6 PM at the Lighthouse Church, 111 Church St., Shelbyville, TN. with Pastor Jay Pope officiating. This service is “to celebrate the life of our father, brother and papa Smokey who has gone on to be with the Lord”.
A native of Coffee County, TN., he was the son of the late James Calvin Farrar and the late Polly Limbo. Mr. Farrar was the Administrator of the VA Section of the Steps House in Knoxville. He was employed at the Steps House for approximately ten years, where he was previously a Rehab Counselor. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, playing on the computer and attending group retreats with the Steps House. He attended the Lighthouse Church in Shelbyville.
Mr. Farrar is survived by one son, Coey Farrar of Tullahoma; two daughters, Amanda Farrar of Lynchburg and Jennifer Farrar of Manchester; one brother, James Richard Farrar and his wife, Vickie of Lynchburg; four sisters, Carolyn Hollingsworth of Manchester, Kathy McCullough, Shela Watson and her husband, Butch and Lynda Dobbs, all of Shelbyville and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.
