Last night Coffee County got past Walker Valley in the Region 3-AAA softball semi-finals 4-1. The Lady Mustangs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 3rd but saw the Lady Raiders score two in the bottom half of the inning. Brittany Williams walked followed by a bunt by Anna Spellings that the Walker Valley catcher threw into right field and both Coffee County players scored to make it 2-1. The Lady Raiders finished off the scoring in the 5th when Bethany Baker hit her first ever homerun to make it 4-1. Baker’s homerun earned her the Gateway Tire and Service Center Palyer of the Game.
Coffee County will host Soddy Daisy Wednesday night at 7pm in the Region 3-AAA championship.
In the Region 3-AAA semi-finals in baseball Coffee Co. took an early 1-0 lead over Ooltewah on a Tyler Cavender RBI. The Owls would score 3 runs in the 4th inning and that’s all they needed for a 3-1 win. The Raiders season ends with a record of 13-24.
