Anna Spellings did all she could to give the Coffee County Central Lady Raiders a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Cookeville, as the Lady Raiders lost 4-3 in seven innings at District 6-AAA Championship at Cookeville on Thursday.
It was a good day at the plate for Anna Spellings. Anna Spellings went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the sixth inning. She was named the Gateway Tire and Service Center Player of the Game.
The Lady Raiders fell behind 3-0 to the Lady Cavs in game one before coming back to tie the game in the 6th inning 3-3. In the bottom of the 6th Cookeville would score once and go onto win 4-3.
In game two The Coffee County Central Lady Raiders took down Cookeville 11-0 on Thursday at District 6-AAA Championship after slamming Cookeville with six runs in the fourth inning.
Anna Spellings racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Lady Raiders. She homered for the 9th time this season in the fifth inning.
Brianna Jones brought the heat against Cookeville during her outing. Cookeville managed just one hit off of Jones, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during her five innings of work.
Coffee County stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on an RBI single by Kelsey Adams.
Ginny Clayborne was the Gateway Tire Player of the Game with 3 hits an RBI and scored once. Bricen Hunt had 2 hits and knocked in two. Bethany Baker, Brittany Williams and Alaina Lusk all one RBI each.
Coffee County will host the Region 3-AAA tournament Monday night at 7pm.
