At Monday’s awards ceremony, state winners received plaques for their schools or projects, which are also judged at the national level.
Receiving the highest national honors were Lipscomb Academy Elementary School and Franklin County High School as Primary School of the Year and Secondary School of the Year, respectively. Unicoi County’s 4-H Program was named a national finalist in the Special Projects category. Franklin County High School was also the Senior School of the Year in Tennessee.
Tennessee Youth Awards for Energy Achievement included third place elementary school winner, Robert E. Lee Elementary School of Tullahoma.
