Clara Belle Shasteen, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 at her residence at the age of 86.
Mrs. Shasteen was born in Coffee County to the late John Isaac and Elizabeth Hathcock Crosslin.
She was a longtime member of West End Baptist Church in Tullahoma, where she was involved in numerous activities over the years. Mrs. Shasteen was also a member of the Lakewood Country Club was a Red Hat Lady. She was an avid golfer and loved bowling, gardening and traveling. Her church family was of upmost importance to her and she made many trips to the Life Care Center to sing for the residents. She also loved to visit her friends at Morning Pointe Assisted Living here in Tullahoma.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shasteen is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Shasteen who passed away in 2004; one sister, Ollie Mae Yates; and three brothers, Raymond, Preston and Leighton Crosslin.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Eskew and her husband Sam of Estill Springs and Linda Perdue and her husband Jim of Pall Mall, Tennessee; two grandsons, David Matthew Moorehead and his wife Tracy of Sparta and Alex Cameron Eskew of Estill Springs; three great grandchildren, Kyla Shasteen Moorehead, Katelyn Sierra Moorehead and William Caleb Matthew Moorehead; nieces and nephews, Kenneth R. Uselton and his wife Marie, Carolyn Daniel and her husband Mike, Ed Shasteen and his wife Donna, Karen and her husband Tim, Patty Phillips and her husband Bruce, Richard Shasteen and his wife Pam, Scott Shasteen, Deanna Ellis, Gaye Felts and her husband Mark, Larry Blackwelder and his wife Julie, Mary Raye Gamble and her husband Greg, David Wayne Blackwelder and his wife Cassie and Mark Duane Blackwelder and his wife Sheila.
Visitation for Mrs. Shasteen will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2013 at 2:00pm in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Grosch and Bro. Marvin Davenport officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
