With their victory over Cumberland County yesterday, the Raider tennis team finished second in the district. Doubles winners were Matt Johnson and Kyle Johnson; Lucas Crismond and Zach Taylor. Singles winners were Matt Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Jaylon Patton, and Lucas Crismond.
Doubles winners for the Lady Raiders were Keyonna Wilder and Karlee Reed and Kristen Shelton and Audra Schaffer. Singles winners were Olivia Watkins, Keyonna Wilder, Karlee Reed, Abby Ferrell, and Audra Schaffer.
The individual district tennis tournament for 6-AAA will be held in Cookeville on May 1 and 2.
Girls Singles: Hollie Moore received a first round bye and will face Susie Brown of Warren Co. at 2:15. Olivia Watkins also received a first round bye and will face the number 1 seed in the tournament from Cumberland County at 1:00.
Boys Singles: Lucas Crismond received a first round bye and will meet the winner of Cagle vs. Hunt at 3:30. Jaylon Patton will play his first round match against Braswell of Cookeville at 12:00.
Girls Doubles: Keyonna Wilder and Karlee Reed will play McLaughlin and Houston of Cumberland County in the first round at 1:00. Abby Ferrell and Audra Schaffer received a first round bye and will play at 3:30 against the winner of the Cookeville / White Co matchup.
Boys Doubles: Brock Ivey-Bodman and Lake Elam received the 2nd seed overall in the doubles tournament and a first round bye. They will play Cumberland County at 1:00. Matt Johnson and Kyle Johnson received a first round bye and will play the winner of the Warren and Cumberland match up. Johnson and Johnson will play at 3:30.
The semi-finals of the team tournament will be held Friday, May 3rd. Coffee County boys and girls will host Warren County.
Matt Johnson and Kyle Johnson were selected 2nd Team All-District in Singles and Austin Ledford and Zach Taylor were chosen 2nd Team All-District in Doubles.
