In high school softball action Tuesday night in Crossville, Coffee County had problems with the hot-hitting Lady Jets. Cumberland County got their bats rolling in the 4th inning scoring 7 runs to take a 7-2 lead. The Lady Jets went onto pull off a huge upset over the Lady Raiders, 8-5. Coffee County only managed 5 hits. Ashlyn Young, Bethany Baker and Alaina Lusk all had an RBI. Baker had 2 hits on the night.
The 13-6 Lady Raiders will host Baylor, weather permitting Thursday afternoon at 5pm and Thunder Radio will have the broadcast.
Raider baseball also traveled to Cumberland County on Tuesday attempting to get their second win in a row, more importantly their second in a row in District 6-AAA play. The Coffee County bats were alive has they hit the ball extremely well grabbing a 10-3 win. The Raiders improved to 6-16 and 3-5 in district action.
Peyton Meeker had 4 hits, Kyle Douglas 2 hits, Tyler Cavender has 2 and 2 RBI, Trace Friedlein added 2 hits and with John Reese Gilmer with 2. Kyle Douglas was the winning pitcher.
Coffee County will travel to Shelbyville for a 6:30pm first pitch on Friday night and the Raiders will host Franklin County at noon on Saturday that game was originally set for Winchester. Thunder Radio will have the play-by-play on Saturday beginning at 11:50am.
