The Motlow Lady Bucks braved freezing temperatures and snow flurries to win two out of three contests against TCCAA rival Cleveland State Sunday and Monday in Cleveland. Motlow won the first game 14-6 and the third 6-1, but dropped game two 9-7. A scheduled fourth contest between the teams was cancelled due to rain Sunday afternoon.
Motlow (6-13, 4-9) was forced to cancel a scheduled trip to Covenant College on Monday in order to complete the series against Cleveland State. The games in Cleveland were originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, but were pushed back by impending wet weather.
The Lady Bucks will use the momentum gained from winning the series against Cleveland and attempt to climb further up the conference standings when they host Southwest Tennessee for a four-game series this weekend at the softball complex in Moore County. Friday’s doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and Saturday’s at noon.
The Motlow Bucks baseball won two out of three games at TCCAA rival Columbia State over the weekend, their first conference series win of the season. The Bucks host Shorter College for a non-conference doubleheader today at the Driver Complex beginning at 2pm.
